"Colour of Leaves" - The Moonlights

Artist: The Moonlights

Song: "Colour of Leaves"

AlbumThe Moonlights

Description: I know.  What in the world am I doing posting a song titled "Colour of Leaves" in mid-March -- presumably it's all about fall colors, right?  Nope!  Well, maybe it is, but there are lyrics celebrating the sun, tiny bugs, moss, and, yes, SPRING!  As a video, this is pretty boring -- Moonlights Dean Jones and Rachel Loshak singing and occasionally making eye contact with the camera -- but as a song, Jones and Loshak make for some wonderful harmonies.

"Roller Coaster" - Bari Koral

Artist: Bari Koral

Song: "Roller Coaster"

AlbumThe Apple Tree & The Honey Bee

Description: There is very little to this video -- scenes of simply-drawn roller coaster cars going up and down a surprisingly unthemed roller coaster.  (Aren't all coasters themed these days?)  But they're drawn by Joel Henriques, so they have a certain charm to them.  The video itself is actually part of a big Yogapalooza Live concert featuring Koral in New York City on November 21, so if there's a certain physical activity feeling to the song (and video), I think you know why.

"Go Fire Truck, Go" - Suzi Shelton

Artist: Suzi Shelton

Song: "Go, Fire Truck, Go"

Album: Smile in My Heart

Description: I can't say that this video is terribly complicated.  Even the song itself -- from Shelton's forthcoming album -- is comparatively simple, structurally -- but considering that the songwriter, Henry Rivetti, was FOUR YEARS OLD when he wrote the original song, that's kind of expected.  Right in your 4-year-old's wheelhouse.

"Yellow Banana" - NikosKids

Artist: NikosKids (aka Nikolai Moderbacher)

Song: "Yellow Banana"

AlbumIn This Moment

Description: I suppose I could complain about the color/fruit choices -- I, myself, am a D'Anjou pear man myself, and therefore can't countenance the implied Bosc (brown) pear in the lyrics -- but this is a fun video.  Think of it as a much more kid-friendly version of Kafka's The Metamorphosis.

"I'm Gonna Light Up the World" - Lloyd H. Miller

Artist: Lloyd H. Miller

Song: "I'm Gonna Light Up the World"

Album: S.S. Brooklyn

Description: Lloyd Miller's first solo album, S.S. Brooklyn , is out today, and he gets his dance on in this mellow video for "I'm Gonna Light Up the World," the sweet first single from the album.

Lloyd's got better moves than me.

"High 5 Your Shadow" - Ratboy Jr.

Artist: Ratboy Jr.

Song: "High 5 Your Shadow"

Album: Champions of the Universe

Description: That is one danceable shadow.  A fun video for my favorite song off Ratboy Jr.'s latest album.  (But those woo-hoos?  Too high for my voice, at least at loud sing-along volumes.  I think Little Boy Blue has a much easier time of it.)
